Random Jobs of the Working Woman

The other day, I was talking to a coworker about random work experience
Please tell me that I'm not the only one here who has worked random jobs!
Oh how random?
You be the judge...

in no particular order-
Vending machine Re-stocker
Paper Delivery Girl
Activities Leader at an Alzheimer's home
Concessions Hawker
Balloon Animal Maker
ATV tour guide
Shot Gun Instructor
Catering Staff
Housekeeping Supervisor
Summer Camp Supervisor
4th Grade Teacher
and now
YMCA Before and After School Supervisor / Professional Crafter
(I wish)

I know it's hard to picture me with a shot gun...
Maybe that's why I like the glue gun so much!

Tell me, what is the most random jobs you've ever had?

Well this isn't terribly random, but I sold tickets for a water park one summer (ok, 2 days of one summer). The uniform was a tshirt (tucked in), khaki shorts (with a belt) that went down to my knees and practically up to my boobs, white tennis shoes and a white visor. Two days later I found a job that paid twice as much with no khaki short requirement. I was outta there!

I've bobbed for apples for money. I guess that is a job.

I hired this guy who moved to our state for a seasonal position and he was so good, I hired him on the spot! Then, we hired on his very talented and creative wife who works her magic out at one of our sites. They are an amazing couple. Wait! It gets better... I will get the pleasure of supervising her this summer! What a lucky girl I am!!! :)

Haha Malaika...Nice. Wait until you see my next post before you decide how "talented" and "creative" I am. You are a great supervisor though!

Jackie Jackie Jackie. It was ME that paid you to bob for apples. I was your boss...and as your boss, I command you to do my laundry.

@Cami: Are the clothes on the floor dirty or clean? Or is that the trick, deciding which is clean and which is dirty. You beyotch. I would quit if I didn't actually enjoy it so much.

Hehe! It's funny the things that life throws at us.

I've haven't done anything too out there, mostly my work has been vaguely education related or promoting my university. I've also been an antique auction assistant and the secretary and odd jobs girl at a caravan park lol. All fun!

I'm impressed by the variety of your jobs! I've only had 2 jobs, but before teaching I was a Fire Risk Specialist. Basically I went around in our very rural fire district and taught people how to keep their homes safe from wildfires. I met a lot of interesting people in the boondocks and was welcomed by a shotgun more than once...

Hi I am a new follower and I am looking forward to reading your blog. I consider my job a random job. Work at home Mom and the job duties are a mile long. Have a great day!

Um, you forgot to add toilet paper roll collector. ;)

I want to be a balloon animal maker! Too fun! :) My previous jobs are pretty non-random and boring. Sigh. At least my current job, while not random, is pretty fun :)

Cami, I resided on the same floor as you at DT our freshman year. I found your blog from a link on the side of a blog of one of the women I go to church with...small world. I just wanted to say I looked at your creative creations on your blog and you're amazing.

Also the strangest job I had was a telemarketer selling "pharmaceuticals" which turned out to be a product I'm embarrassed to mention and the trainer at the call center took me aside after training and asked if I wanted to train on another floor due to the surprised look on my face when we got to what we were selling. I lasted two weeks selling another product but still had to take calls on the gross product now and again.

I was a roller coaster operator. I climbed up it when people were stuck and cleaned it up when people were sick. Preparation for my current jobs as teacher/mother :-)

I really like the clean looking blogs, the ones that are predominantly white. I’ve been thinking about starting one of my own, but when I see all the great blogs out there, I must say, it looks like a big mountain to climb for me.
