I am not a complicated scrapper by ANY stretch of the imagination
I like things quick, simple, and well put together.
You can tell how often I scrapbook by the pictures I'm scrap booking. Wedding Photos. From four years ago. Figured I'd better finish that before the baby comes along.
That way when it one day asks "What was your wedding like?"
I can say "Just look at the scrapbook...You know...the only scrapbook we own"
Also, for the record, this is what my craft room looks like after the fact.... I don't understand how to even START to avoid this type of mess...
Hahah that's awesome Cami! I'm working on my wedding scrapbook right now (only a year and a bit after the event!) and that's exactly the disaster I've been dealing with too! I have stickers and papers and photos and other odds, ends, and keepsakes cluttered all over the table, plus my laptop because I keep realizing I'm missing photos of things so I have to email guests to see if they captured particular moments, or copy photos into a "print" folder!! Plus I have a list of jobs for my husband to do, like handwrite a copy of our vows (I thought that would be fun) and get an old family photo from his mother for our "family tree" page! And anyways, the only reason I'm working on the scrapbook now is because I'm not working and I figure as soon as I am working again, that will be my excuse not to tackle it for several more years, and I'm afraid by then I may forget all these little details that are already fading! Anyways, good luck with it, and I'm glad I'm not the only one with scrapbook chaos ;)
ReplyDeleteI like your scrappin' style. Good for you for scrapping your wedding photos, they are a daunting task!
ReplyDeleteAt least your mess is contained in a craft room. Mine takes over the living room and I end up picking up little pieces of paper for days. I'm almost 2 years behind on scrapbooking (meaning I managed to finish the wedding scrapbook earlier this year and haven't done anything since). So I guess all of that is to say, don't worry you aren't the only messy, behind the times scrapbooker :)
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed that you actually scrap!. I have nooooooooo patience for scrapping. I once made a scrapbook of a trip to europe. It took forever, and made my ocd/perfectionist tendencies come out in full force. Not good ;).
ReplyDeleteI really like your style though. Quick, simple and well put together are always good. Very good.
The after mess is exactly why I don't scrapbook more often! I need to get some sort of storage system and/or desk to work on. I usually spread out on the living room floor during nap time, but if I don't finish and completely clean up before naptime is over, a 2 year old tramples through everything and rips my paper!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your scrapbook pages look lovely.
Well done! You did a great job. I like how simple it is. That fits my taste. I am 4 years and 2 kids in to my marriage and have only thought, "Maybe I should scrapbook these pictures." So, good job you.
ReplyDeleteAnd, the mess after I believe is a sign of a genius at work.
