Quick and Easy Baby Quilt

I love making baby blankets
Just the thought that my blanket will be wrapped around a sweet baby makes me so happy.
When I saw this easy quilt tutorial by Sam over at
I just had to share!
It just seems like the perfect beginner quilting project for people like ME
who can't sew to save their lives.
I can't wait to make one for the baby!

Flower Bulb Tutorial

In case you missed it over at She Wears Flowers, here it is again!
Difficulty: Super Easy...I mean, really really easy
Time: 30 minutes
Cost: Less than 10 bucks
Fun-ness: Anything this easy has to be fun.

Materials:
 Silk Flowers
Light Bulbs
Floral Wire
Hot Glue
Ribbon
Scissors

Directions
Step 1: Prep it!
Get out your aggression, and pop your silk flowers off their stems. Take your floral wire and cut 5 different 15 inch segments. Don't forget to twist the ends into swirls... don't worry, it doesn't have to be perfect.

Step 2: Wire it
Twist your floral wire around the end of your light bulb. Wrap it around the metal end of the bulb and hot glue it down

Step 3: Flower it
Glob that hot glue all over the light bulb end, and onto the front of the metal as well. Press your silk flower directly onto the hot glue, and put a little more on top (you can never go wrong with too much hot glue...). And that's it. Just make 4 more, string them on some ribbon, and PRESTO, you've got yourself the perfect addition to any spring decor.

And that's it!! So easy, and super cute.

Simple Scrapbooking

I am not a complicated scrapper by ANY stretch of the imagination
I like things quick, simple, and well put together

You can tell how often I scrapbook by the pictures I'm scrap booking. Wedding Photos. From four years ago. Figured I'd better finish that before the baby comes along.
That way when it one day asks "What was your wedding like?"
I can say "Just look at the scrapbook...You know...the only scrapbook we own"

Also, for the record, this is what my craft room looks like after the fact.... I don't understand how to even START to avoid this type of mess...

Vellum Cheater

My walls are in serious need of some lovin'
The blandness is blinding.
Why don't I just stick up some vellum to hide the bland?
Why don't you stick vellum to YOUR FACE.
Okay. That didn't make sense.

ANY-WHO
Here's what I came up with.... in true slacker form
Nope...not vellum. Scrapbook paper. Who has vellum laying around anyways?
Oh right, you probably do.
I cut the swirl using the Cindy Lou cartridge and set my cutter for "5 inches", but I'm sure you could free hand it if you really wanted.
Four years of college, 2 years of teaching, and what did I take away?
Mad tape rolling skills
And then I stuck it up there...
too easy.
But It sure adds....something.
